SALON/locale

SALON/ is an Amsterdam based initiative that was first launched in July 2010 in the Netherlands. Following its success, ‘SALON/locale’ launches in Cape Town from the 19th to 26th of February 2011 brought to us by CMK1. The event maintains the theme of previous SALON/ events which aim to showcase fashion, art, design and photography in the form of installations in unexpected locations around the city but this time is 100% South African. The event will take place over one week with salon presentations, shows and interactions in locations such as such as Koopmans de Wet House, 15 on Orange Hotel, Am I Collective Garage, The Slave Church, Dokter & Misses, Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel and Bertram House.

Some of the exciting contributors for Salon/locale include David Tlale, Athi-Patra Ruga, Stoned Cherrie, Stiaan Louw, Paul Senyol+Andrew Breitenberg, Mamela Nyamza, Clive Rundle, Gazelle, Porky Heffer, Petro Steyn, David West, Hey CJ Parker, Stefania Morland, Marchand, Paul Ward, Love and Hate Studio, Gavin Furlonger, Chris Saunders, Darkie and Black Coffee.

The ticket price to enter all locations is R100 and the ticket acts as a passport to ensure unlimited access to all the locations, every single day of the event. The locations will be open from 10 am until 5 pm every day.
